Appalachian Brewing Company

Appalachian Brewing Company

The Appalachian Brewing Company, also known as ABC, was established in 1997 by beer enthusiasts Jack and Shawn.  ABC restaurant and brewery serve hand-crafted beers, as well as craft sodas, and a wide variety of exceptional food.  Their main brewery is located in Harrisburg, but, they also offer high quality small-batch beers at five other locations across Pennsylvania. Their other brewpubs are located in Gettysburg, Camp Hill, Lititz, and Collegeville.  ABC’s craft beers and sodas are also widely available at most places where beer is sold throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

Aside from high quality hand-crafted beers and sodas, the Appalachian Brewing Company also offers a wide variety of events and entertainment. ABC offers brew tours, Mug Club membership, the Appalachian Brewing Trail, and Concerts at Abbey Bar located at ABC’s Harrisburg location.

Many of ABC’s beers are available year round at the brewery, brewpubs, and beer distributors. Their staple beers include: Water Gap Wheat Ale, Mountain Lager, Purist Pale Ale, “Jolly Scot” Scottish Ale, Hoppy Trails IPA, Trail Blaze Brown Ale, Susquehanna Stout and Broad Street Barley Wine.

The Appalachian Brewing Company also offers over a dozen seasonal beers, there is a new featured beer each month. Each seasonal craft brew has a unique taste that perfectly compliments the season in which it is brewed.Their seasonal beers include: Zoigl Star Lager (Jan.), Chocolate Avenue Stout (Jan.), Outta Focus Double IPA (Feb.), Celtic Knot Irish Red Ale (Mar.), Pennypacker Porter (Apr.), Anniversary Maibock (May), Auchenbach Keller Pils (Jun.), Hinterland Hefe Weizen (Jul.), Kipona Fest (Aug.), Rye Pumpkin (Sept.), Ragged Edge Espresso Stout (Sept.), Batch No. 666 (Oct.), Grinnin’ Grizzly Spiced Ale (Nov.), Volks Weizenbock (Dec.)

Aside from their hand-crafted beers, ABC also produces delectable craft sodas. Their sodas are brewed using high quality ingredients such as pure cane sugar and honey. None of the craft sodas contain high fructose corn syrup. This is just one of the many reasons that their sodas are unique and delicious. ABC’s craft soda collection includes: Root Beer,  Diet Root Beer, White Birch Beer and Ginger Beer. These fine craft sodas can be found at many beer and soda outlets, grocery stores, and restaurants in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland.

The use of natural ingredients in their sodas means that they are great for adding to recipes! Be sure to check out their website under the craft sodas tab for an awesome BBQ sauce recipe using Appalachian Craft Root Beer.
